Nine Ways to Make Money Online

Many people want to earn money online but have no idea how to start. Your laptop or phone has a ton of ways you can start earning money online, whether it is some extra cash or a full-time income. To give you an idea on some of the ways you can do that, here are nine ways to make money online.

1. Start a Blog

Starting a blog is one of the easiest ways to build up your skills online and make money while doing it.  You have thoughts and opinions on things and once you put yourself out there you will soon find many people who have the same thoughts and interests. You start building an audience and getting traffic to your posts. Once you get enough traffic you can sell advertisements, and if your following gets big enough you can sell merchandise.  Or perhaps another bigger blog sees what you are doing and pays you to write for them. If you stick with your own blog you could sell ad space or even become an affiliate marketer.

Blogs do take a significant amount of work. You need to be consistently writing and consistently putting out good content. It takes time to build up a real audience. This needs to be something you are really passionate about.

2. Create a Subscription Based Site

If you are able to run a successful blog this can be a way you can use it to earn income. Have premium content or a paid subscription to read. Many blogs will offer an ad-free subscription, where you can pay a monthly or yearly fee to read the site without any advertisements. Others are completely behind a paywall, like newspapers. People have no problem paying for content if it’s a) good quality, or b) exclusive content they can’t get anywhere else.

We have seen this with the popularization of OnlyFans. You can upload your exclusive content, pictures, videos etc, and people pay a monthly subscription for that content. Much like a blog you need to be producing consistent content or you will lose your audience, but if you are consistent you can earn a steady stream of income.

3. Write an eBook

If blogging isn’t your thing, or you don’t have the patience or discipline to write every day, but you still want to get your thoughts out there, you could write an ebook. We’re not talking about some 1000 page novel, it could be anything from a children’s book to cook book. Writing an ebook is good because it doesn’t require the same time commitment that blogging does. Self-publishing is as easy as it’s ever been. Amazon self-publishing is very user friendly; it can get your book published and available quickly. It also gives you more legitimacy, people will be more inclined to purchase from Amazon than a blog for example.

Now just because you write a book, doesn’t automatically make you money. You still need people to buy it. You will have to promote it, on your social media etc., and it may take time before you see sales.

4. Freelancing

Maybe writing isn’t your thing, or you don’t have exclusive content people will pay for, but you certainly have a skill that someone will pay for. You can freelance that skill out and with the internet you can freelance all over the world. Here are just a few examples of skills you can easily freelance.

  • Graphics and design
  • Music and audio
  • Video and animation
  • Social Media/Digital Marketing
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Translation and writing
  • Data Entry
  • Programming

Sites like Fiverr and Upwork make it easy for you to get yourself out there and connect with others who could use your skill set.

It can be difficult at times to find consistent work with freelancing. You never know what skills are going to be in demand. But you can also find yourself working on a large project for months. There isn’t the same growth potential as there is with blogging, but freelancing carries less risk, as it’s a skill you already have and can offer it to people all over the world.

5. Teach an Online Course

If you have a specific skill that people are willing to pay you for, there is probably a large number of people who want to learn that skill, and you can teach them. Now you don’t have to give all your secrets away. If you’re a good programmer you can freelance that skill out, and teach others on the basics of how to code. Or it could be as simple as teaching someone the guitar, or teaching someone another language, if you are bilingual. With Zoom you can teach people all over without having to ever leave your house.

The difficulty with teaching is getting your course out there. Marketing is difficult and there is plenty of competition from others. You may find yourself in a situation where you have to put out a tutorial or a few videos on Youtube to show people what you can offer.

6. Affiliate Marketing

If you have a successful blog, or Youtube channel you can become an affiliate marketer. Affiliate marketing is simple; you advertise a product or a business and refer customers to that business. If your referral leads to a sale then you get a percentage of that sale. Businesses use affiliate marketing because they want to take advantage of your audience. You already have an audience that would be interested in their product/service so rather than spend time and effort to reach your audience they just go through you, and pay you for that privilege. It’s win-win since the business gets focused traffic and you can make money.

The percentage you make is typically small so you need a fairly large audience for affiliate marketing to be successful. You can’t advertise to 100 people and expect to make a ton of money.

7. Stock Market

You don’t have to be a big time Wall Street trader to have success and make money on the stock market. There is a learning curve to the stock market, knowing when to buy and sell. You need to be able to have patience; you may have to wait months or years before you see any major returns. But if you have the time to follow it and stay up to date it can be a very profitable experience. There are plenty of resources available on day trading, and plenty more on what stocks to buy, sell and hold. If you do proper research you can succeed.

The stock market is good if you have some extra cash. You do need to start with a decent amount of money. There is risk as well, markets crashes, or you make some poor investments. It is a little bit like gambling, but if you are smart and don’t make rash decisions you can earn money on the stock market.

8. Buying/Selling Domain Names

Much like the stock market you can buy and sell domain names. Same concept as stocks, you buy a domain name, hold it and sell it when the price goes up. However buying domain names is more like buying and flipping houses than it is stocks. There is a certain skill set that is needed. Much like how not just anyone can buy and flip a house, not just anyone can buy and flip a website. You need to have the expertise to forecast a name or website you think has potential. Then you need to fix it up or build it up into something people want to buy.

The cost of this can be expensive as well. If you have the expertise, this can be a very successful avenue to take, if not you may have just wasted lots of time and money.

9. Drop Shipping

Finally, we have dropshipping. Dropshipping is a great way to make a living online, IF done correctly. The dropshipping process can be 90% automated so you hardly have to do any work. Its set up like this: You sell a product or list a product online for consumers to buy. The consumer makes a purchase, and then the supplier of the product will ship that item directly to the consumer’s door. You don’t need to worry about stocking anything or carrying inventory in your house.

Dropshipping can scale up very quickly. You can start with an initial investment of $100. You spend $25 of that on five bottles of supplements. You then sell those supplements bottles for $40 each and just like that you have made $200. It doesn’t take long for dropshipping to grow and be profitable.

Much like the rest of this list, you do need some expertise in this area to be successful. Thankfully here at NutraFunnels we take care of that for you. We make the whole process simple and straightforward so you can have success dropshipping your own supplement.
